If you're deciding on Proposition A, know that the 2022 map is the one in use for the Nov. 3 election. The U.S. Supreme Court locked it in after the Missouri Supreme Court ruled the referendum could go before voters. The vote decides whether the 2025 map takes effect after the 2026 election cycle.
Proposition A's path runs from an August primary to a Nov. 3 vote
- AugustMissouri's primary election uses the 2025 map.
- Sept. 3The Missouri Supreme Court unanimously rules the referendum petition legal.
- Nov. 3Voters decide Proposition A; the 2022 map is used for this general election.
- 2028The 2025 map would be in effect if voters say yes.
The campaign is lopsided. The “no” side is running TV ads and canvassing, while the “yes” side looks nearly nonexistent. People Not Politicians, which gathered roughly 300,000 signatures for the referendum, has taken in $5.2 million in donations of $5,000 or more since Oct. 10. “To my knowledge, there has not been an effort organized to support the passage of Proposition A,” said Michael Hafner of Put Missouri First.

There doesn't appear to be a comparable committee spending money to pass Proposition A, according to the report.
