About this event

What can centuries-old books reveal about the people who owned them, the communities that cherished them, and the history that nearly erased them? Sam Glauber, Miriam Barr Librarian for Jewish and Near Eastern Studies at Washington University, shares the fascinating story behind Stolen Words: Hebrew Books from the Theresienstadt Ghetto, an exhibition on view at Olin Library from October 3 to January 31. The exhibit features Hebrew books from the WashU collection that survived the Holocaust and bear remarkable stories of Jewish resilience and preservation. Discover how these extraordinary volumes became witnesses to history — and why protecting them matters for future generations.
