EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Members of the MHS Gluons Robotics team launched a STEM resource drive to collect school supplies, robotics kits and textbooks for donation to underfunded schools served by the Little Bit Foundation (helping over 17,000 students). The team, which often visits local elementary schools, will gather the items through the end of the first semester and plans to expand the initiative to local stores and libraries. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The St. Louis County Council voted 6-1 to express no confidence in Dr. Kanika Cunningham’s management of the animal shelter after a report criticized poor communication, overcrowded kennels, and the 19 dog euthanasias following a parvovirus outbreak—council members noted that taxpayers' dollars must be managed better. Dr. Cunningham said the shelter has expanded its volunteer and foster programs, though some now worry that new budget plans could change the center's future. First Alert 4
