CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A Galleria store owner, Motasem Kawdees, was charged with third-degree assault and armed criminal action after a fight broke out when an EDK employee went to retrieve misdelivered packages—Kawdees was hospitalized while the employee suffered a minor laceration. First Alert 4
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Over 600 residents from the Orchard Lakes subdivision signed a petition on Change.org as they urge MODOT to install sound walls along I-270 between Olive Boulevard and Page Boulevard — MODOT stated that no study or retrofit noise barriers would occur without a highway expansion project, and residents may take legal action if the issue remains unaddressed. - ➤ Chesterfield is considering buying a downtown office building and parking complex for $17.3 million—critics say this is about $3 million more than a recent appraisal of $14.5 million. Supporters say the deal will provide needed parking and space for future city services—details will be discussed at an informational meeting held today at 6 p.m. in City Council Chambers with a final vote set for Aug. 18.
