GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The St. Louis County Library’s Samuel C. Sachs branch in Chesterfield will be demolished and rebuilt as part of the Downtown Chesterfield development. The new library—located at the southwest corner of Burkhardt Place and Veterans Place Drive—will be 20,700 square feet with a modern design, updated parking, and improved walkways. West Newsmagazine
- ➤ MoDOT removed the curb bump-out islands from Clarkson and Long roads this spring as part of its *$52 million Safety Improvements Project*, with removal costing $56,106 after the islands were installed in fall 2024 to reduce accidents. The department will update crosswalks with clear markings in August and add reflective backplates to intersection signals while planning a *listening session* with local residents next year to address concerns.
