- ➤ AB InBev’s stock fell more than 11% Thursday morning after the company reported a 1.9% drop in sales volumes—beer volumes declined 2.2% while non-beer sales increased slightly. CEO Michel Doukeris said weak performance in China and Brazil drove the loss, and the stock traded at $58.60 after closing at $66.54 while still up over 17% this year. St. Louis Post-Dispatch
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Senate Bill 68, signed on July 9, requires all public and charter schools to ban cell phones, smart watches and tablets during class—exceptions apply for health and emergencies. School districts must have written rules by August 28—officials say the new policy will help students focus as they return to school on August 18. West Newsmagazine

- ➤ Gov. Mike Kehoe signed a law that bans nurseries and plant dealers from selling six invasive plant species starting Jan. 1, 2029, and four species will be phased out by 2027 to protect native habitats. The law, backed by Sen. Mike Bernskoetter and Rep. Bruce Sassmann, aims to curb the spread of these plants that threaten local ecosystems. West Newsmagazine
