- ➤ The St. Louis Jewish Community Center is renovating its Marilyn Fox Building at the corner of Baxter and Wild Horse Creek roads in Chesterfield. Phases 1 and 2 have added new community spaces, upgraded restrooms, and improved locker rooms+ phase 3 will add a group exercise studio, renovated child areas and a refreshed exterior with updated parking ahead of a September finish. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ St. Louis County Executive Dr. Sam Page was indicted by a grand jury on two counts of a class four election offense for misusing public funds on a mailer that challenged a change in county council authority — he said he would fully cooperate with the investigation. First Alert 4
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Retired real estate developer Robert Brinkmann, who donated $202,000 to Gov. Kehoe’s political action committee, is one of three groups bidding for the nearly $600 million Missouri Capitol renovation—his proposal to purchase the MoDOT headquarters for overflow office space has drawn criticism—and the Capitol Commission will review proposals on August 29 with a final vote scheduled for September 19. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ BJC HealthCare and Cigna Healthcare reached an agreement that will keep BJC in network for Cigna patients starting August 1, preventing local residents from facing higher costs. The deal comes after earlier negotiations left patients in limbo + both companies worked to secure continued access to needed care. St. Louis Post-Dispatch
