GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ ST. LOUIS COUNTY — Repair crews fixed a water main on Mackenzie Road in Affton after it ruptured at 7:30 p.m. Thursday night, worked on two mains in Webster Grove that broke at 1:40 a.m. Friday, and were expected to complete repairs on a main on Towne South Road in Concord by Friday afternoon as rising temperatures strained the system. The breaks occurred during a heat wave that increased water usage and pressure across the network. St. Louis Post-Dispatch
- ➤ MoDOT spent $56,106 to remove concrete bump outs from Clarkson Road and Long Road in May after they were installed last fall as part of a $52 million safety project. State Rep. Ben Keathley said local residents complained about the bump outs—MoDOT said it will hold a listening session with the public in the next year. First Alert 4
