- ➤ Founders David Wolfe and Florian Kuplent of Urban Chestnut Brewing Company must pay over $330,000 to their lender after missing loan payments since 2016. The brewery filed for bankruptcy protection last fall and was bought by local investor Brian Travers for $2.55 million this year— a jury trial is scheduled for Dec. 8th. St. Louis Post-Dispatch
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Governor Mike Kehoe signed a package of bills Wednesday that bans cellphones in schools for the 2026-27 school year — and raises the legal age for marriage to 18. St. Louis Post-Dispatch
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Washington University researchers reported that tiny ticks are rising in Missouri and may harm livestock and people; a longhorned tick was found in suburban St. Louis County in February. St. Louis County now offers a special tick kit for residents to help track the spread—officials say increased tick numbers may boost disease risks. First Alert 4
