- ➤ St. Louis County Library (SLCL) has partnered with Delmar DivINe, St. Louis Diaper Bank, Operation Food Search and Missouri Baptist Disaster Relief to collect tornado safety donations such as tarps, duct tape, masks, batteries, flashlights, camping lanterns, battery packs, charging blocks and work gloves from its 20 branches from today until May 28, with the items to be sent to the BRICK at Fountain Park after the drive ends. At Delmar DivINe (5501 Delmar Blvd.), families impacted by the tornadoes will receive up to 25 diapers, 25 period products, a bag of shelf-stable food and a hot meal starting at 11 a.m., while MetroMarket mobile farmer’s market offers free produce at People’s Health Center until 1 p.m. West Newsmagazine

- ➤ St. Louis County prosecutor Melissa Price Smith marked her 100th day in office by ending probation for gun crimes, so her office will no longer offer probation for shootings, homicides, armed robberies, felon-in-possession, and armed drug offenses effective immediately. Councilmember Mark Harder said the change means violent offenders stay in jail, even as the facility holds 1,300 residents+ officials expect tough choices ahead to keep the county safe.
