- ➤ The Missouri Senate voted twenty-seven to six Monday to send HB594, a capital gains tax cut plan that lets Missourians deduct all federal capital gains from their state taxes, back to the House for final approval—this bill also adds tax relief for low-income seniors, diapers and feminine hygiene products and is expected to cost nearly $350 million a year. St. Louis Post-Dispatch
- ➤ The Missouri House gave narrow preliminary approval on Monday for a bill to tax and regulate video gambling machines — Senate leaders have signaled little appetite for an expansion of gambling, and the measure needs one more House vote before it heads to the Senate for further debate. St. Louis Post-Dispatch
- ➤ Missouri’s GOP senator Josh Hawley asked the antitrust division of the U.S. Justice Department to open an investigation into FICO— a company that holds 90% of the credit-score market— because its recent rate increases hurt working Americans and make it harder for low-income borrowers to buy a home.
