- ➤ Eighty-eight area veterans took an Honor Flight trip to Washington to visit national war memorials and built lasting bonds during the journey. The trip gave veterans a chance to find closure and strengthen camaraderie. St. Louis Post-Dispatch
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Castlewood State Park, a 1,818-acre green space with 8 hiking trails and scenic views, offers outdoor activities and historical charm — volunteers will help with trail maintenance every second and fourth Tuesday from April to October while an upgraded Lone Wolf Trailhead gazebo now meets ADA standards. - ➤ On March 28, a large crowd gathered at the Daniel Boone Branch library as local officials and advocates explained the RECA program that offers up to $50,000 for residents affected by radiation. Residents will have until Dec. 31 to apply, and organizers will work with senators to expand coverage (county health data). West Newsmagazine
