EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Rockwood School District and its union agreed on a 10% salary increase over two years—5.25% in the first year and 4.75% in the second—following months of stalled negotiations and public pressure. District officials call the deal a first step toward addressing teacher pay concerns. St. Louis Post-Dispatch
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ MoDOT announced plans to remove bump-out islands from Clarkson Road and Long Road after local residents and officials raised concerns over safety and driver inconvenience. The islands, installed last year for a regional safety project, will be taken out by summer – a move supported by Chesterfield leaders and state Representative Ben Keathley after community input was lacking. - ➤ MoDOT announced (after hearing community feedback) that curb bump-out islands along Clarkson and Long roads will be removed by early summer as part of its safety improvements project targeting high crash rates.
