- ➤ The City Council approved the expansion of the Eberwein Community Garden with a budget transfer of $4,800 to add 30 plots and install new water connections, an extended fence, and gravel walkways—measures aimed at relocating residents from the Parkway Community Garden after its land was sold for a senior living facility. More than 80 gardeners were on the waitlist, and the expansion provides a cost-effective alternative for the community. West Newsmagazine

- ➤ Maryland Heights based Hogan trucking company said it will lay off 50 drivers, two fleet managers and one operations manager effective June 6+ the layoffs follow the closure of its depot at 6701 Southwest Avenue this summer and the company will continue operating from downtown St. Louis and Bridgeton.
