COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ Chesterfield will host two open house events at City Hall on March 5 from 4 to 7 p.m. and March 7 from 9 a.m. to noon to present design updates for a planned $20 million aquatic center and gather community feedback. West Newsmagazine
- ➤ The St. Louis County Pet Adoption Center is hosting an emergency adoption event today and waiving fees to help ease high capacity as it cares for 170 dogs and 34 cats. The center will provide spaying/neutering, shots, and microchipping free of charge for all adopted animals. First Alert 4
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Today, local artists display an art show at City Hall featuring 16 plein air paintings by Linda Green-Metzler — also showcasing works by Radine and Rich Bright. A reception runs from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and the exhibit continues through March. West Newsmagazine
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Students at Marquette High School organized a winter clothing drive (from Jan. 5 to Feb. 2) to collect essential items for local shelters. AFJROTC Squadron Commander Chad Force led the effort, gathering about 200 items donated to Loaves and Fishes on Feb. 16. Marquette Messenger
- ➤ Dan Whiting received the Teacher of the Year award in his seventh hour biology class on Friday, Feb. 13 at MHS; administrators celebrated his creative approach and family & his students joined the surprise. Marquette Messenger
