Dragd

About this event

The project

began in the fall of 2023, when David Shanle came home to St. Louis from the Southern California desert

and started demoing what would become the band's debut, I Don't Think I'm Gonna Make It.

A social media post found its way to an old friend, Chris Thomas, frontman of ex-LA, now Kansas City

band, Bolinas. A day later, Thomas sent back a vocal demo for opening track "Haiku Teleport,

" and Dragd

was born.

It took over a year for the two to record together at the historic Lemp Brewery rehearsal spaces in St.

Louis, shared with Shanle’s hardcore band, Squint. Thomas brought in fellow Kansas City musician Zack

Hames to track drums and mix and master IDTIGMI. Friends Ian O'Leary (Squint, Future Nots) and

Danny Blaies (Future Nots) rounded out the lineup on bass and drums, turning a long-distance demo into

a full band.
