About this event

START YOUR SATURDAY IN THE WOODS. 🌳

A family-friendly Forest Bathing + Nature Therapy experience for ages 5+.

What if, instead of adding another activity to the calendar, you made space to slow down together ? Join Flow State Holistic Health and Urban Forest Therapy for a guided forest bathing and nature therapy experience created especially for families. This isn't a hike, and there’s no destination to reach . Instead, certified forest therapy guide Jess Thenhaus will lead you through simple, sensory-based invitations to slow down, notice, explore, and connect with the natural world.

You might be thinking, “What makes this different from taking my family to the park?” A trained guide creates an intentional experience that helps you engage with nature in ways you may not discover on your own. And doing it in community gives families the opportunity to slow down alongside others who are making the same choice. Most importantly, you don't have to plan it, lead it, or figure out what comes next. You just get to show up and be present. For kids, that's an experience worth modeling: rest is part of a healthy life, too.

Meet Jess

Jess Thenhaus is a Certified Forest and Nature Therapy Guide, National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach, and founder of Urban Forest Therapy. For more than a decade, Jess has explored the intersection of nature, wellness, mindfulness, and the human nervous system , bringing together evidence-informed practices with a deeply personal connection to the natural world. Her work grew from her own experiences with health and the limitations she encountered in conventional approaches to wellness. Today, she is passionate about helping busy people—especially those living in urban and suburban environments— slow down, reconnect, and find a greater sense of calm and presence in the natural spaces around them. Jess's approach is grounded, inclusive, and trauma-informed. Through forest bathing, nature therapy, and somatic practices, she creates experiences that invite people to feel more connected—to themselves, to others, and to the world around them. We love Jess's authenticity and the passion she brings to this work, and we're thrilled to share her approach with our Flow State community.
