About this event

Join us at MaTovu for a ghoulish candlelit evening of Yiddish Occultism! Join three local Yiddishists, Erin Faigin, Sam Glauber and Rebecca Weingart, for a journey through a version of Eastern European Jewish history shaped by monsters, occultism, and ghosts. Our three storytellers will share tales about possession, hauntings, and the spiritual afterlives of Eastern European Jewry. Come at sunset to hear a bisl Yiddish, read Yiddish stories in translation, and discuss the haunted history of Ashkenaz. Wine and snacks will be served!
