About this event
(Paul Thomas Anderson, 2021, USA, 133 minutes)
Returning to his favorite location of San Fernando Valley and time period of the 70s, Paul Thomas Anderson’s episodic ninth feature stars Cooper Hoffman, son of PTA muse Philip Seymour Hoffman, in his first role, playing opposite Alana Haim of the band Haim, also in her first role. Hoffman plays Gary Valentine, a 15-year-old in possession of a startling amount of hubris and entrepreneurial spirit, who falls hard for twentysomething Alana Kane (Haim), who against her better instincts enters into a working relationship and friendship with young Gary.
